1. Check the friction coefficient of tiles

The antiskid property of ceramic tile depends on the friction coefficient of the surface of the floor tile. According to international standards, the friction coefficient of ceramic tiles can be five grades. In the national standard of ceramic tiles in China, the test method of friction coefficient is clearly included, and the manufacturer of ceramic tiles is required to provide the data and test method of friction coefficient when the products leave the factory. Therefore, when purchasing anti-skid tiles, it is necessary to ask the merchants to give the friction coefficient of tiles and select products with a higher friction coefficient.

2. Foot test

However, it has a lot to do with shoes. It should be noted that some shoes are anti-skid. When purchasing ceramic tiles, first discuss with the shop owner. You can walk directly on the surface of the tiles to test the anti-skid effect. If you feel slippery when walking, do not choose this kind of brick for the kitchen and bathroom balcony.

3. Water test

It is very common when there is water on the tiles, so when selecting tiles, you should also pay attention to the skid resistance under the condition of water. Lay two larger tiles (some factory tiles may be covered with a layer of oil paper or waxed, which should be removed first). Fill a cup with water, sprinkle the water in the cup on the tiles, and then walk back and forth on the watered tiles with shoes to feel whether it feels slippery.

4. Eye observation and hand touch

If the surface of ceramic tile is flat and smooth like a mirror, the skid resistance is generally poor; At the same time, you can make a basic judgment by touching it with your hand. Generally, the more astringent the touch, the better the skid resistance. As an ordinary consumer, there is no way to carry out professional testing on the skid resistance of ceramic tiles. However, some other inspection experiences can be used as a reference when choosing anti-skid bricks.

5. Check the tile inspection report

The anti-skid grade is divided into three grades, and the anti-skid coefficient is greater than or equal to 0.5, which means that this method is universal and feasible. Different kinds of floor tiles have different skid resistance. The simple way to distinguish them is to look at the lines of the tiles. The thicker the lines, the stronger the skid resistance. The thinner the lines, the weaker the skid resistance.

How Do You Stop Floor Tiles from Being Slippery

1. Use the antiskid agent

There is a product called tile antiskid agent, which is applicable to glazed tiles, full-length tiles, polished tiles, vitrified tiles, antique tiles, antiskid tiles, mosaic, and other stone floor tiles. Its working principle is that the tile antiskid agent can effectively penetrate into the capillary holes of floor tiles and stones, dissolve a small amount of silicon, make the original capillary holes coarsen, and form many small invisible nano-scale dents on the surface.

Anti-skid treatment steps for floor tiles

- In order to ensure a better anti-skid effect, first, wash the ground with clean water, then remove stubborn dirt, grease, polishing wax, etc. on the ground with a brush and a special floor cleaner, and then wash the ground with clean water twice and wait for the ground to dry (there is no water stain on the surface, so it is not necessary to wait until it is completely dry).

- Spray the product evenly or spray it on the ground. After waiting for 8-15 minutes, clean it twice with clean water. At the same time, brush it 2-3 times with a bristle brush until the residue on the surface is brushed clean. (Note: during the final cleaning, the ground must be brushed with a bristle brush)

- Generally, it needs to stay for 8-15 minutes. However, according to the material texture, in order to better achieve the anti-skid effect, the product will stay on the ground for a flexible time, which can last for 30 minutes. The specific time should be determined according to the small area test results of the ground material. (if it is homogeneous brick, it is recommended to remove the anti-skid liquid with a rag after 8 minutes of anti-skid liquid coating, and then apply the anti-skid liquid again. After 5 minutes, clean it with water.)

- If it is necessary to spray products in a large area, please divide the ground into several areas and carry out construction in sections in advance, so as to avoid the consequences of uneven effect caused by simultaneous construction.

2. Increase ground friction

The utility model reduces the risk that the floor tiles are easy slip and fall after being wet, and has the effect of "astringency in case of water", which makes the ground more antiskid when it is wet than when it is dry. It is absolutely safe for people to walk on it! Even if the ground surface is worn in the future, the existing structure change part is stable, so it can maintain the long-term anti-skid effect. The treated floor tiles or ground stones also have an obvious effect when they are dry. The anti-skid effect increases several times in case of water or a greasy state. Once the anti-skid treatment is carried out, it is effective for a long time.
