How To Properly Seal Grout  - Full Guide How To Use A Grout Sealer

  1. Before construction, prepare tools such as glue gun, brush, sponge, scraper, rag, blade, tacking cone, masking paper and tacking agent to determine whether to fill or half fill.
  2. Use the grout sealer cone or blade to shovel out a groove within 2mm of the ceramic tile gap first, so that the grout sealer can be enough, and the paste plane is large enough, and it is not easy to fall off.
  3. Use tools such as art knife to clean up the sundries in the ceramic/porcelain tile gap. Pay attention to avoid damaging the gap. Then use the brush to clean the tile gap, and then use the sponge to clean it.
  4. Paste the seam paper at the edge of the tile gap about 1mm to avoid the overflow of the grout sealer polluting the tile.
  5. Open the grout sealer hose and install it on the glue gun. During the application of the grout sealer, the angle between the glue gun and the gap shall be 45 degrees, the frequency of pressing the glue gun and the moving speed of the glue gun shall be smooth, not too fast, and the uniform force can ensure the evenness and balance of the applied grout sealer.
  6. During the application of tile grout sealer, the grout sealer shall be lightly compacted by pressing plate in time. After pressing, tear off the masking paper pasted on the tile in time.
  7. After drying, you can use a blade to remove a small amount of residual grout sealer. Generally, the rubber can be removed after 24 hours. In winter, the time needs to be extended to 48 hours.

Precautions For Sealing Grout On Tiles

  1. If the width of ceramic tile gap is less than 3mm, the depth of tile gap shall be 0.5mm; if the width of tile gap is between 3-5mm, the depth of tile gap shall be 1mm; if the width of ceramic tile gap is greater than 5mm, the depth of tile gap shall be 1.5mm.
  2. When cleaning the tile gap, it must be ensured that the impurities in the tile gap are removed clean, not damp, no dust and no particles.
  3. After the construction of tile grout sealer, the residual grout sealer on both sides of the tile gap shall be cleaned in time, which can be wiped with wet towel to prevent the back from being cleaned easily.
